Inspiration for the very particular aura of Douce Amere came to Serge Lutens from a plant that is traditionally mixed with Moroccan tea, a beverage once savoured by artists. The plant in question is absinthe, known in Morocco as 'chiba'. A deceptively organic scent which conceals the absinthe.
