Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using Parfuses you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our service.
Our service
Parfuses provides fragrance information, AI-powered recommendations, and links to third-party retailers. We are an informational platform — we do not sell perfumes directly. Purchases are made through external retailers, and their own terms apply.
Scope and limitations of AI recommendations
3.1 Parfuses provides fragrance recommendations through an AI-assisted discovery tool (the "Scent Coach"). The Scent Coach is an informational and educational aid designed to help users narrow down their fragrance preferences based on data-driven classification of perfumes.
3.2 Recommendations generated by the Scent Coach are indicative only and do not constitute a guarantee of personal suitability, satisfaction, or compatibility with the user's skin chemistry, olfactory preferences, or individual reactions.
3.3 The user acknowledges that:
- Fragrance perception is inherently subjective and varies between individuals;
- A perfume's actual scent on a given person can differ significantly from its described or classified profile, due to factors including but not limited to skin chemistry, body temperature, pH balance, diet, medication, hormonal state, and environmental conditions;
- No recommendation system, regardless of its sophistication, can fully predict how a given fragrance will smell or behave on a specific individual;
- The Scent Coach's recommendations are based on structured data, user-provided preferences, and machine-learning algorithms, and may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies.
3.4 Parfuses strongly recommends that users sample any fragrance in person — at an authorized retailer, through a sample or decant service, or via a tester — before making a full-bottle purchase. Parfuses does not sell fragrances directly; purchases are made through third-party retailers whose own return and refund policies apply.
3.5 Parfuses, its founders, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for:
- Dissatisfaction with a fragrance purchased based on a Scent Coach recommendation;
- Differences between a recommended fragrance's described profile and its actual scent on the user;
- Any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from reliance on recommendations provided by the Scent Coach;
- Purchase decisions made through third-party retailers.
3.6 By using the Scent Coach, the user acknowledges that final purchase decisions are the user's sole responsibility.
How Parfuses earns money
Parfuses earns through affiliate commissions, direct payments, and (eventually) aggregate data licensing. Here's the full picture.
Affiliate commissions
When you click through from one of our recommendations to a partnered retailer (currently Amazon; Parfumdreams, Flaconi, Notino, Douglas, Deloox are joining as their programs approve us) and complete a purchase, we receive a commission of 4–12% depending on the retailer's program.
Recommendations are not weighted by commission rate. The match algorithm filters by your profile first, then orders by match score. Higher-commission retailers don't get higher placement.
Direct payments
Monthly (€8.99/mo recurring) and Annual (€49.99/yr — most popular) are billed directly through Stripe. Monthly is non-refundable once the Premium Report is generated. Annual can be cancelled at any time; access remains until the end of the paid year, with no pro-rata refund of the remaining months.
Aggregate data
From month 18 onwards, we may license anonymized, aggregated taste-trend data to fragrance houses and retailers — categorized by region and demographic, never linkable to individual users. This will be opt-in only and disclosed transparently when introduced.
What we don't do
- Take placement fees from retailers.
- Take endorsement payments from influencers or brands.
- Sign exclusive deals with any retailer.
- Sell or share individual user data with third parties.
User accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to provide accurate information and to notify us of any unauthorised use of your account. You can request account deletion at any time by emailing support@parfuses.com — see our Privacy Policy for the full process.
Limitation of liability
Parfuses is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the service or purchases made through affiliate links.
