I've always been fascinated by the futuristic beauty and plastic genius of some of the works of African statuary. Mysterious and hypnotic, they seem to have been shaped by extra-terrestrial hands. The meeting with a reliquary guardian figurine Fang (Gabon) made me want to explore the African theme again, ten years after Aomassai, Pierre Guillaume.
