His unquenchable desire for olfactory experience one day led perfumer, Jean-Paul Guerlain almost to the ends of the earth, to an island that many would class as a tourist paradise. Mayotte in the middle of the Comoros Archipelago. The name means the fragrant isle. This fragrance that evokes the special atmosphere of the island was not as successful as anticipated when it was launched in 2000. It was taken off the market but, at the request of distraught fans, Guerlain revived it in 2006 under the name Mayotte.
