Canvas Der Duft

I began Canvas by visualising the ink (which is my medium as a tattoo artist), as black liquorice, liquefying it and adding a colourful translucency with raspberry leaf, a wash of steaming, painterly herbal and floral notes of rose and peony. Rather than creating a 'blank canvas', I wanted to create a perfume that captures the possibilities of what the canvas could be: a kaleidoscope of watercolour, soft textures and contrasting elements.
