Our Philosophy
Scent fuses identity.
01 · What we promise
Some scents are chosen, yours is remembered.
Most fragrances are tried on, weighed, compared, and bought because they're ‘fine’. We're not interested in fine. We're interested in the bottle that already feels like you the moment you smell it — the one your skin recognizes, the one that doesn't fade in your mind a week later.
That kind of scent doesn't come from a recommendation engine that learned your purchase history. It comes from the right questions, asked in the right order, by someone who's listening for what you're not saying as much as what you are.
02 · How we earn
No retailer bought a position. No influencer endorsed a bottle. Your profile is the only voice in this list.
Parfuses earns money through affiliate commissions. When you click through from one of our recommendations to a partnered retailer and you buy, we get a percentage. Today that is Amazon. Five additional European retailers — Parfumdreams, Flaconi, Notino, Douglas, Deloox — are being added as their affiliate programs approve us. That's our business model and we're not hiding it.
What we are hiding from is the bias that comes with single-retailer affiliates and influencer-driven product placement. We don't have an exclusive deal with anyone. The list you see is shaped by your profile, not by who pays us the most. The match is the only voice that gets a vote.
This isn't a virtue signal. It's how the system is wired. The match algorithm filters by what fits you first, then sorts by score. Commercial weighting comes nowhere into the recommendation. It's a deliberate design choice that costs us margin in the short term, and earns us trust in the long term.
03 · The two tiers
Free is a map. Paid is the reading.
The free tier gives you six perfumes that lean toward your profile, with multi-retailer price comparison and a saved profile you can return to. That's a map of where to look.
The paid tier — Monthly at €8.99/mo, or Annual at €49.99/yr (most popular, 54% cheaper than 12 monthly payments) — gives you something else: a Premium Report with three hand-picked bottles, match scores that tell you why each one earned its place, wear guidance for when each is at its best, and a ‘what to skip’ section that's honest about which currently-popular fragrances would be wrong for you. That's a reading of who you are, in scent.
If you've already found yours, the map is enough. If you're still searching — or if you want a record of what we read in your taste — the reading is the thing.
04 · What we won't do
The four lines we don't cross.
- ·We won't push perfumes you don't want. The list is your profile, not our shelf.
- ·We won't sell your data to brands or retailers. Your answers are yours.
- ·We won't pretend that fragrance is rocket science. The right questions are simple. The simple part is what gets done badly elsewhere.
- ·We won't add complexity for the sake of feeling thorough. If a question doesn't help you find your scent, it doesn't make the cut.
